Luz Alejos (she/her)

Currently calling Kumeyaay lands and waters home. A lovely mix of lumpia, barbacoa, and manzanilla tea. Good belly laughs and deep questions. Hands that hope to tell as many stories as her abuela’s. Seed saving, land stewardship, conflict for the sake of good collective strategy.

For Luz, movement and play are central means of conversation, processing, and releasing in group gatherings. Luz is committed to these practices through over fifteen years of facilitation, curriculum design, and resource sharing experience whether as a high school English teacher, College Advisor, community organizer, outdoor guide, environmental educator, or farmer. Some of Luz’s trainers/teachers include: Theater of the Oppressed NYC, Seeds Community Resolution Center’s Conflict Mediation Training, Good Work Institute, The People’s Yoga, and everything Emergent Strategy. Luz comes from a heritage of working class and migrant farm workers of Mexican and Filipino descent.
